This Kestrel meter can really do almost anything. Offering the same proven accuracy, reliability and ease of use as the original Kestrel 4500, the Kestrel 5500 Weather Meter measures all environmental conditions as well as Wind Direction, Side Wind and Head Wind/Tail Wind. Use it while Rowing, Golfing, Sailing, Flying, Spraying, Shooting and more. Drop-proof, dust-proof, waterproof and capable of surviving extreme environments unscathed, your Kestrel weather meter travels with you wherever you venture. A range of carrying case options makes it even easier to take your Kestrel meter with you.
In addition to measuring current environmental conditions, the Kestrel 5500 tracks and logs over 10,000 sets of time-stamped data. Your data log can be transferred wirelessly to an iOS/Android device using the LiNK wireless communication option and the Kestrel LiNK app, or to a Windows/Mac device using the optional Kestrel LiNK dongle or waterproof USB data transfer cable (both sold separately).
The true versatility of the Kestrel 5500 becomes apparent with the addition of the Kestrel Vane Mount. This precision engineered accessory securely mounts the Kestrel 5500 to a tripod or other mount. Once mounted, the Kestrel 5500 becomes a full-fledged weather station - with a large wind vane and a precision pivot point that keeps the Kestrel pointed into the wind to continuously measure and record wind speed, wind direction and all other important weather parameters. The Kestrel LiNK app also displays the Kestrel's real-time readings on a vivid, customisable dashboard - providing a remote display that works up to 100' away. The TOTAL Kestrel 5500 + Vane Mount Kit weighs only 295 grams and fits in the included padded belt pouch, which measures only 6.5 x 7.5 x 22 cm. The Kestrel 5500 is the world's most compact weather station, providing hundreds of hours of accurate measurements. The rotary vane mount is included with the 5500 with LiNK or can be purchased separately. It works with any Kestrel 5 Series meter.
